Restorative yoga in Seymour CT

Gentle Yoga *

This class is ideal for all levels. A centering practice of pranayma (breath) and meditation is followed by a warm up that prepares the body and mind to deepen into the practice. A series of postures that are energizing are then followed by a relaxation to calm the mind. A great balance of stretching and strengthening is utilized to achieve optimal physical and mental health. This class is open to all levels from beginner and beyond who are injury free.

Gentle Hatha/Yin Yoga *

Using the traditional breath of hatha yoga, we will flow gracefully and gently. We will then move to the yin practice, where we will deepen into the postures and explore sensation in the body. In yin, poses are held 2-5 mins. These poses are mostly forward folds and seated postures. This class is appropriate for all levels who are in good health and are injury free.

Mindful Slow Flow *

This class explores pairing breath with movement, and awareness of how breath enhances the yoga practice as it advances through the sequence. Being mindful of how the body speaks to each yogi is key. Yogis are encouraged to modify asanas, rest and challenge themselves when needed.

Moderate Yoga **

This class is ideal for all levels from the fit beginner with some yoga experience and beyond. A centering practice is followed by a warm up that prepares the body and mind to deepen into the practice. A series of postures that are energizing are then followed by a relaxation to calm the mind. A great balance of stretching and strengthening is utilized to achieve optimal physical and mental well being. This class is moderate level, so it is a little more vigorous than "all levels yoga," but not as vigorous as Vinyasa.

All Levels Yoga **

This class focuses on uniting movement with breath as we flow through a warm up, dynamic movement, sun salutations (flow,) standing and balancing postures, and then enter into a cool down and guided rest (savasana.) Modifications will be given for simplifying or amplifying your practice to meet you at your level!

Kundalini Yoga **

Kundalini is known as the yoga of awareness and the mother of all yogas. It's the whole pie, combining the 22 pieces of yoga. Kundalini combines postures (asana), breath work, (pranayama), chanting (mantra), and meditations. It accelerates the energy of the body / mind to create an elevated state which causes deep relaxation with clarity and alertness. This is a yoga for the everyday householder, allowing breakthroughs and stillness in a short amount of time

Vinyasa Yoga ***

In Vinyasa, we will move smoothly through our movements linked by ujayi breath. This flow practice moves mindfully and powerfully. Some knowledge of poses is assumed as this is not a beginner level class. We will build both strength and balance on the yoga mat through pranayama (breath work) and asana (yoga poses.) No two classes are ever alike! This class is open to those with some yoga experience - advanced who are injury free.
